One of my favourite wildlife encounters in 2023 was with this family of grizzly bears. I came upon them on a very rough backroads trail and spent some time watching them play and meander along the road from the safety of my Jeep. There was a mama and two big cubs, likely spending their last season with mum before moving on on their own this coming spring. This young one got pretty close and flashed me a smile before the family moved on and I left them in peace.
