On my way to southern Alberta this past spring I stopped in a park in Calgary to stretch my legs and do a little birding. Upon arrival I noticed a group of photographers all watching a pair of great horned owls. I stopped for a bit and fired a few frames but decided to keep poking around. I circled back to the area and the owls had changed positions and the female was now nesting in the bowels of this big old snag. She began playing peek-a-boo with the remaining photographers before crawling back out and getting on with her hunt. I squeezed this awesome frame during our little game of hide and go seek! My fave from the day!
