Some moments of connection, no matter how fleeting, remain powerful and meaningful long, long after the encounter. The very brief time my eyes were locked with this cross fox in the Northwest Territories is one of those moments. Each time I look at this photo I feel something bigger than myself. I feel its intelligence and its wisdom; its curiosity and its compassion. I feel a connection to a world far larger than what the hubris of man has told me exists. All beings deserve life, feel emotion and can teach us so much. If only we'd listen.
