The Winter Road

This one is a bit of a brain breaker and sometimes takes people a little while to see. Though it’s titled “The Winter Road,” it’s not really a road at all but the way the ice has formed and cracked on the surface of an uncovered, frozen lake. To me, the patterns are reminiscent of a tree lined road in winter. My biggest interest in drone photography is exploring the landscape from this new perspective to continue looking for abstract patterns and textures. I love these natural abstractions and find they may wonderful fine art images.

This image was Highly Commended in the first Natural Landscape Photography Awards and published in their book.
