New work from this week. Being a “semi-pro” photographer can be weird state of being. Other businesses and obligations have a tendency to keep you away from the field as much as you’d like and seeing all your friends who are pros out all the time makes you think you should be out far more. When I experience these busy periods where I don’t get out as much as I’d like, I start to question things. Is my passion waning? Do I still like photography? Am I even a photographer anymore? But then I get out and have nights like these. Standing alone, under the stars in an incredible location, where the silence is only punctuated by the howl of a distant coyote, and it’s in these moments that I know there’s nowhere else I’d rather be and nothing else I’d rather be doing. This is my Happyland.
