Leave the Light On

On my first night chasing the Milky Way in April 2024, I returned to an area I’ve been to before but I didn’t have a lot of time to scout for new locations. So I went back to some spots I had pinned, the first being this cool old house. This was my first time trying my new Nikon Z 8 system for astro as well as some new illumination techniques and it all felt pretty exciting, like those very first few nights out with my first camera so many years ago. I love all of the matching angles in this photo. The core lines up with the roof which lines up with the delineation of light and dark paint on the house with lines up with the light and dark on the grass. Not intentional at all. Just one of those happy accidents.
