Prairie Heart

Fun story with this one! When we arrived to this spot around 2am, the blades of the windmill were not at all lined up with the Milky Way core! Now, I’ve been dreaming of a windmill and MW shot since I started shooting and I simply would not accept so easy a defeat. Undeterred, I did what any self-respecting, lunatic photographer would do...I gave the ladder a good, hard shake, mustered myself and climbed the damn thing in the pitch black so I could push the blades around by hand until they were in the right position! I then climbed down and moved the Jeep so I could climb on top of it and put myself at a more even vantage point. Never let it be said that I won’t work all the angles to get a shot just right. And I’d say it was worth it!
