Wildflowers in Waterton

Waterton National Park in Alberta is well-known for it’s wildflowers. They burst with colour amongst the plains of the park as the mountains loom in the distance. It may seem strange to make monochromatic images of something as colourful as wildflowers but on this particular evening, there was nary a cloud in the sky and the resulting colour image felt a little flat and the colours in the overall scene weren’t particularly complimentary; a perfect opportunity to create a much stronger black and white image! This image was created by focus stacking the flower and blending the stacked file in with the background.
