June 14th, 2020 was one helluva chase day that culminated in watching this beautiful supercell develop as bore down on us across the prairies. We stood directly in its path as it spit lightning and became a tornado-warned storm as it went overhead. I have wider shots showing it’s immense size but this one of it throwing bolts was the top pic of the day! All told, over 1300km were travelled in 16.5 hours, I got to within 50km of the US border, had a couple grumpy pants moments wondering what the hell i was doing, sang at the top of my lungs to my road trip tunes and had a total blast immersed in just being in the moment all day long.
